    • 1). Open Microsoft Word and create a new document. Navigate to the "Track Changes" pane of the "Review Tab." Select "Hide Markup" from the menu.

    • 2). Hold down the "Ctrl" and "S" key to open a "Save" dialog box. Navigate to your "Templates" folder, which can be found in your "Microsoft Office" folder under Word. Give your document a name, such as "Standard" or "Normal," which is the option you'll want to choose when you open a new document moving forward. Click "Save."

    • 3). Hold down the "Ctrl" and "N" keys at the same time the next time you want to create a new document. Double-click the template you created. "Markup" and "Track Changes" will not work in this document or in any document that uses this template.
