Licensing Assistance and PBDS Study Guide for Travel Nurses Available
Cirrus Medical Staffing is an award winning Healthcare Staffing Firm and provider of medical professionals to healthcare facilities across the nation. Cirrus is ranked as one of the top 10 Travel Nurse Job providers in the US. The firm specializes in placing Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Allied Health professionals into travel, contract and permanent employment.
President Greg Allen has announced two great new services provided to Nurses looking to enter the traveling realm. The first is a free study guide for the Performance Based Development System (PBDS). The required competency assessment exam is used all across the country to evaluate permanent and temporary nurses. "Many of our clients require it, so we want to make sure our Travel Nurses are well prepared.", said Allen. The assessment tool issued by Cirrus Medical Staffing was developed by Dr. Dorothy del Bueno and focuses on three skill sets: critical thinking (problem recognition, risk management, priority setting), inter-personnel relations (team building, conflict resolution, customer satisfaction) and technical skills (safe, effective, efficient skills).
Exercises and questions included in the study guide mostly include video vignettes.
The vignettes are followed up with questions which are made with the purpose to draw answers which illustrate prioritization of events, determine what the main problem or anticipated medical diagnosis is, identify additional resources needed, what nursing interventions apply, and lastly, to explain why decisions were made and actions were taken.
Cirrus Medical Staffing are also looking to help nurses in geographically specific areas like California and New Mexico. The process to obtain a nurses license in these states is particularly difficult, so Cirrus Medical Staffing recently announced that they will be offering special license services to those nurses in these areas seeking traveling positions. Greg Allen, the President of Cirrus Medical Staffing stated that "We want to make the whole process as simple as possible for our travelers, so they don't miss out on these great opportunities." The agency will provide incentives such as a $500 starting bonus for new travelers as well as license reimbursement.
For nurses living in or looking in the California San Francisco, Cirrus has opportunities in Los Angeles, San Diego, Monterey, Inland Empire and Costal California. For those in the New Mexico area there are openings opportunities in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Los Alamos.
