How to Make No-Sew Curtains Out of a Sheet
- 1). Measure the height and width of the window.
- 2). Select flat sheets by color, pattern and size. Sheets are available in standard sizes: twin, full, queen and king, with the dimensions marked on the outside of the package. Choose the size that is closest to the window's measurements.
- 3). Add 1 inch to the window's height measurement for the hem and then cut the sheets to size with a sharp pair of scissors. This step and the next are unnecessary if the sheet's dimensions fit the size of the window.
- 4). Cut a length of iron-on hem tape to the width of the sheet. Fold over the one-inch hem and iron the tape along the hem with the iron set according to the tape manufacturer's directions. Alternatively, spray fabric adhesive along the wrong side of the cut edge and fold the sheet at the one-inch mark to make the hem.
- 5). Iron the sheets until smooth.
- 6). Attach clips approximately 3 to 4 inches apart along the top edge of the sheets and then slide the sheets onto a curtain rod with the design side facing the room.
