How to Polish Aluminized Steel
- 1). Fill a bowl with warm water and add several drops of mild dish soap. Saturate a microfiber cloth with the mixture and cleanse the aluminized steel of dirt, oil or other debris. Wipe dry with a soft towel.
- 2). Move the aluminized steel to a shaded area, or indoors, if possible. Wax application is best performed at a moderate temperature and in subdued light.
- 3). Dip a foam application pad into your container of carnauba wax. A generous amount of wax should be caked at the tip of the pad.
- 4). Spread the wax onto the aluminized steel using light pressure and a consistent, circular motion. Continue spreading the wax until the entire piece of aluminized steel is evenly coated.
- 5). Allow the wax to dry to a fine powder, or for the time suggested on the container. This is typically between 3 and 6 hours depending on weather conditions.
- 6). Wipe the dried wax off of the aluminized steel using a soft towel and straight, single passes. Avoid applying too much pressure or using a buffing motion as you remove the wax.
