How to Tie a Perfection Knot to a Snell Knot
- 1). Hold the free end of the leader attached to the snelled hook with your hand. Position the snelled hook so it is to your left and the free end of the line is to your right.
- 2). Turn the free end of the line back and behind the main line length to form a loop. Pass the free end of the line behind the main length to form the loop.
- 3). Form a second loop over the first loop. Form the loop by turning the free end of the line back and under the main length.
- 4). Feed the free end of the line up and between the two loops. Pull the free end so it goes straight up and is at a right angle to the main line length.
- 5). Pull the top loop out to the side and through the bottom loop. Moisten the knot with water or saliva and continue pulling to form the Perfection loop. Trim excess line extending from the free end of the knot with scissors.
- 6). Connect the Perfection loop on the end of the main line to the Perfection loop on the end of the snelled hook leader. Feed the snelled hook leader loop through the loop on the main end of the line. Insert the snelled hook through the leader loop and pull tight to secure the leader loop around the main line loop.
