How to Use SSH for the iPhone
- 1). Open "Settings" on your iPhone's main screen. Then tap "Wi-Fi."
- 2). Tap the ">" arrow next to your connected network to load settings.
- 3). Write down the "IP Address."
- 1). Download and install PuTTY. Load PuTTY from the Start Menu. A new connection dialog window will automatically open. Enter the "Host Server" as your iPhone's IP address, enter "root" as the User name and "alpine" ass the password. Click "SSH." Click "Open." You are now connected via SSH.
- 2). Download and install WinSCP. Launch the program once you have installed it. Click "New." Enter the "Host name" as your phone's IP. Enter "root" and "alpine" as the "User name" and "Password." Click "Save," then "Yes." You will now be connected to your iPhone via SSH.
- 3). Download and install SmartFTP. Open the program from the desktop. Click "File > New Remote Browser." Click "SFTP over SSH." Enter the iPhone's IP address and "root" and "alpine" as the user name, and password. Click "OK" to connect.
