  Acrylic mirrors, available at craft stores, are the stars of many fun, funky crafts. Unlike their glass counterparts, these mirrors are more durable and less likely to break. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes, making it easy for crafters to find the one best suited to their project. Decorate or update your acrylic mirrors in a way that reflects your personality, décor or interests.
  
  

Mosaic Frame

• Mosaic frames are made from bits of broken tile, glass stones or marbles. The sheer variety of colored tiles and stones allows crafters to create a design suited to their taste. Choose an acrylic mirror in a wooden frame, or one that fits easily inside a wooden picture frame. According to the Craft Ideas website, other necessary supplies include mosaic tiles or glass stones, white grout mixture, a plastic bowl and spoon, mosaic glue, and masking tape. Cover the surface and edges of the mirror with masking tape to protect it while applying grout and tiles. Lay out the pattern of stones on the table before beginning to mix the grout. Mix the grout together according to the directions on the package. Lay the stones or tiles on the wooden frame. Cover the wooden frame with grout and use some a damp sponge to spread it through the grooves between the tiles or stones. Wipe the tiles clean, and allow the frame to dry overnight. If using a picture frame, remove the glass and fit the acrylic mirror into the frame.
  
  

Locker Mirror

• Help your kids create a customized mirror for their school lockers. For this project, gather together a 12-by-18 inch sheet of craft foam, scrapbook stickers, foam letter stickers, a five-inch round acrylic mirror, craft glue, scissors, and craft magnets. You will also need a piece of sturdy cardboard. Fold the craft foam in half and cut along the seam. Trace the round mirror onto one side of the foam. Leaving about a 1/2-inch lip to cover the mirror edges, cut out the circle. Glue the mirror to a piece of cardboard and cut off excess cardboard around the edges. Glue the cardboard and the mirror to the piece of craft foam without a cut-out hole. Place the piece with the hole on top to create a frame. Glue magnets to the back of the mirror frame. Decorate with scrapbook stickers and foam letters.
  
  

Branch Frame

• Decorate a large, oval shaped, acrylic mirror with branches and pieces of driftwood to create a simple, rustic look. Cute twigs, driftwood or branches into pieces about three to five inches in length. Put the pieces flat on several sheets of newspaper and spray with a spray paint. Choose a color that complements your personal style. Wooden pieces may require several coats of paint. About two inches in from the outside edge of the mirror, begin gluing twigs to the mirror’s surface to make a frame. Work from the inside point out to the outer edges.
