How to Clean Die Cast Tooling
- 1). Dust off any loose dust or debris using the 1-inch camel hair brush. Be sure to dust in any hard-to-reach grooves or joints.
- 2). Fill the bowl with the appropriate amount of warm water, depending on the size of the tool that you are cleaning. Soak one of the non-abrasive rags in the water.
- 3). Scrub any built-up dirt or grease using the rag and water from Step 3. Dip a cotton swab in the water to scrub any small grooves or crevices.
- 4). Dry the metal with the second non-abrasive cloth. Dry hard-to-reach places using the cotton swab, if neccessary.
- 5). Apply about a half of a tbsp. of caranuba wax on the lint-free cloth, and rub in a gentle, circular motion.
- 6). Wipe off and buff the metal with the second lint-free cloth. Buff in small, circular motions.
