How to Arrange a Fundraiser Benefit
- 1). Decide what the fundraiser will benefit, how much profit is desired, and what amount of financial investment, if any, will be required by those sponsoring the event. This will help determine the ultimate plan and style of fundraiser that will be needed to reach the goals set.
- 2). Choose a fundraiser committee chairperson, or co-chairpersons, to organize a group of people to work on the committee. The chairperson will coordinate meetings, provide job descriptions and oversee the actions of the group members.
- 3). Determine the type of event desired, location if needed, and day and time of the fundraiser. The initial organizational phase can be complicated depending on the complexity of the desired event so planning should be flexible until details start to solidify.
- 4). Delegate job responsibilities for committee members with a deadline for completion. Some larger fundraising benefits may require smaller subcommittees within the main organizational committee to effectively complete tasks.
- 5). Hold weekly meetings until the day of the event for task-completion updates from committee members for each part of the fundraiser process. A fundraiser chairperson stays in contact with members throughout by telephone or email to stay abreast of any changes or developments that may occur.
