If you want personal success, you would do well to think about your personality.
What are your strong points and what are your weak points? What do you like doing and what kinds of things do you hate doing? What are you comfortable with and what are you terrified of? These are all important questions you must ask yourself if you want to succeed in life and in business.
There is an old saying that goes, "You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip.
" This saying was, and still is, used when talking about trying to get someone to do something he or she just was not designed to do.
For instance, "you can't squeeze a conference speaker out of an introvert" or "you can't squeeze a trapeze artist out of someone who is terrified of heights.
" Whether you are going to work for yourself or for someone else, you are almost guaranteed personal success if you choose a profession that fits your strong points and your personality, and then work it.
I have had several businesses, all having to do with skilled labor, creativeness, and/or dealing with people.
All of my businesses have been successful.
Why? I believe the reason for my successes is that I chose to do those things that are natural to my personality and personal skills.
These skills seem to have been built into me since I was a child.
When I was a child, my favorite games and things to do were things such as working with my erector set.
(An erector set was a set of pieces of metal, small nuts and bolts, and little motors.
) I loved to create and build cranes and other interesting things with my erector set.
I also loved my chemistry set, and building boxcars and whatever else we could come up with when I was a young boy.
That was me.
And the type of work I pursued fit my natural strong points, so, as a result, I had personal success.
If I had tried to be a politician or a schoolteacher, or a banker, I would have hated it and probably would have failed.
For several years now I have been writing on a number of different subjects.
I like to write because I like to learn, help others, and I like the creativeness of writing.
What about you? What occupation or business is a good fit your personality? There is no wrong answer to that question; the important thing is that you find an occupation that is a good fit for you...
one that you can enjoy and be successful at because you and it are a good fit.
Personal success can be had by anyone who finds their niche in the business world.
So do not make the mistake of choosing something that you will be miserable at...
it can only end in failure.
Think about who your are, choose your profession according to your strong points, and along with some hard work, you too can achieve the personal success you desire.
