How to Clean Silverware Marks From Plates
- 1). Wet the dish and your soft sponge with warm water. Apply a small amount of oxalic acid powder to the sponge.
- 2). Rub the dish with your sponge gently in small circles to remove the gray marks left by silverware. You can test the acid powder on the back of the dish beforehand to ensure the cleaner does not erode the protective coating or printed designs on your plate.
- 3). Rinse the dish thoroughly with hot water after you have removed all the gray silverware marks. The cleaner may damage the finish on your dishes if it is left on the dinnerware for a long period of time.
- 4). Dry your china immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth. By drying the china right away, you will prevent spotting and ensure shine.
