How to Remove Duct Tape Residue From Wood
- 1). Pull off the duct tape and discard. Pour about one ounce of adhesive remover onto a soft rag. Wipe the area that has duct tape residue with the solution. The area needs to be moistened, but not too wet.
- 2). Add more product to the rag as needed. Let the adhesive remover sit on the residue for 30 minutes.
- 3). Gently scrape the surface with a plastic spatula. Wipe the solution and tape residue off of the spatula with a clean rag.
- 4). Add more adhesive remover to the rag and scrub the areas to remove any remaining sticky residue. Wet another rag with warm water and a drop or two of dish soap.
- 5). Wipe all areas well that had adhesive remover applied. Rinse with a rag dampened with clear water. Let the wood dry for a day.
