How to Set Up a Bluetooth Headset on a Windows 7 Laptop

    • 1). Power on your Bluetooth headset.

    • 2). Click “Start” and select “Control Panel.”

    • 3). Click the “Add a Device” link under "Hardware and Sound" in the Control Panel window.

    • 4). Select your headset in the list of available devices and click “Next.” Complete the steps to pair the device with your computer and have Windows automatically download its drivers.

    • 5). Right-click the headset device in the Add a Device window and select “Properties.”

    • 6). Click the “Services” tab at the top of the device’s Properties window.

    • 7). Verify the “Headset” service check box is enabled. Click it and click “OK” if it isn’t.

    • 8). Right-click the speaker icon in your system tray and select “Playback Devices.” Right-click the headset and select “Set as Default Device” to use it as your default audio output device.

    • 9). Click the “Recording” tab at the top of the Sound window. Right-click the headset and select “Set as Default Device” to use it as your default audio input device.
