How to Crochet an Heirloom Afhgan
- 1
Chain stich
Decide on your color choices and purchase enough yarn to complete the entire afghan if variations of color would be a problem. If you are making this afghan in multiple colors it is not as noticeable if there is a dye lot variation but if your afghan is all one color the dye lot variations will be more noticeable. - 2
Half double crochet stitch
Select your hook using a size that gives you the stitch appearance you are hoping to achieve. Using the chain stitch crochet a chain 124 chain stitches long. In the fourth chain from the hook and in every chain to the end of the chain make one half double crochet stitch. - 3
