Making a Valentine Card for a Crush
- 1). Choose your materials. Valentine's day cards can be simple or creative. The more involved the card is, the more materials are needed. Choose materials that are light and pleasing to the eye. The card should stand out. Paper or cardboard serves as a base. Then choose materials to add flair such as glitter, candy, sequins or imitation diamond beads and jewels. Fabric and ribbon are also viable options. Select glue that will hold your materials firmly in place. Stick glue often does not have the power to hold heavy or thick items.
- 2). Design the card. Creativity is key. Consider a heart-shaped piece of paper or cardboard. Collect varying colors of tissue paper and fashion flowers out of it with scissors. Glue the centers of the flowers around the edge of the paper close together to create a fringe. A large poster board is is another option to write a message using candy. For example, if you use the words "sweetheart" or "kiss," consider gluing appropriately shaped candy onto the card in place of words.
- 3). Create a message. No Valentine's card is complete without a message. Consider writing a heartfelt message or cleverly crafted sentence. Research quotations on love that accurately portray your feelings toward the person. As you design your card, be sure to leave an area large enough to write a message. Write the words in glue and cover them in glitter. Cut out letters from magazines and newspapers and piece the letters together into words. Calligraphy enhances the look of a meaningful card.
- 4). Present it creatively. Place the card on their windshield or on their front porch Valentine's morning with a gift if you have one. Send it with a friend or family member to deliver to them during the day. Put it into an item they carry daily, such as a book or briefcase, so they are surprised.
