9/11, A Day of Remembrance and of Thanks

9/11...
Remember the lives lost, the lives given and the dedication displayed by all of our nations bravest men and women involved not only in the tragedy itself, but in all that followed; the good, the bad, all of it.
To remember those who fell and those who stood up to be counted.
Those who paid the price and those who continue to pay the price of their valor and courage.
The courage to stand on the field of battle and the courage to stand by your soldier through the toughest times of your lives...
It's not the politicians who stand and salute you, it's all of us, from the farmlands to the swamps; from the mountain peaks & deserts to the beaches.
We the people salute you and remember what you have given to us: Your heart, your pain, your many sacrifices...
Men of valor, and women of courage, we should all stand together and honor you, our nations greatest heroes because you deserve the thanks of a grateful nation now and every day, not just when your family receives a flag...
I call this day Remembrance Day.
To remember the towers and what came after; to remember not only those who fell, but also those who stepped up.
It is far worse to remain silent and be thought a fool, than it is to speak up and remove all doubt.
Let's remove all doubt: It's not enough just to think well of our heroes and remain silent, stand up and tell them on 9/11.
Thank you Ron, Bill, Jeff, Paul, Jeremy and so many others whose faces I do know and some I only barely knew; so many that would cover this page and beyond...
Thank you all for the sacrifices you and your courageous families have made, the pain, the depression, and the valor shown then and still today.
I continue to be in awe of your strength and courage.
If you care, if you remember, then post your own tribute on 9/11 to those heroes you know.
Public or private, it doesn't really matter, just don't let it go unsaid.
Call them, write them; even text them.
Because it really does matter when the words are said, when you stop being a silent witness and decide to become a vocal participant.
I means so very much to soldiers and their family members who are still struggling with the aftermath of tragedy and war.
Shout it in the streets, whisper in their ear, write them a note or post it on YouTube...
Just don't remain silent on this Remembrance Day.
