• 1). Open the "Start" menu. Click "All Programs" and choose "Accessories."
  
  
• 2). Open the "System Tools" menu.
  
  
• 3). Choose "Disk Defragmenter" from the list.
  
  
• 4). Choose the hard drive you wish to defragment by clicking on it.
  
  
• 5). Click "Defragment disk" to defragment the drive. Repeat the process for any other drive you wish to defragment.
  
  

Windows Vista

• 1). Click on the "Start" button. Click "All Programs" and choose "Accessories."
  
  
• 2). Choose "Disk Defragmenter" from the System Tools list.
  
  
• 3). Click "Select volumes." Choose the drives you wish to defragment by clicking on them.
  
  
• 4). Click "Defragment now."
  
  

Windows XP

• 1). Open the "Start" menu. Click on the "My Computer" icon.
  
  
• 2). Right-click on the drive you wish to defragment.
  
  
• 3). Click "Properties." Click on the "Tools" tab.
  
  
• 4). Click "Defragment Now." Select the drive you wish to defragment from the Disk Defragmenter window.
  
  
• 5). Click "Defragment." Repeat the process for all drives you wish to defragment.
