How to Get Mildew Out of Towels Naturally
- 1). Put on rubber gloves. Place the mildewed towels on a flat surface.
- 2). Pour 1/2 cup of table salt in a bowl. Mix in lemon juice, stirring it with a spoon, until you have created a mixture the consistency of thin paste.
- 3). Rub the mixture into mildew-stained areas on the towels. Hang the towels in direct sunlight to remove the stains.
- 4). Put the towels in your washing machine. Run them through a hot water rinse cycle to rinse out the lemon and salt.
- 5). Wash the towels as you normally would. When it is time for the rinse cycle, stop the machine and pour in 2 cups of white vinegar and then let the cycle finish.
- 6). Remove the towels and hang them outdoors in sunlight to dry.
