How to Hang Stuff on Concrete Walls
- 1). Drill a hole, using a masonry bit of the size recommended in the directions that come with the adhesive fastener. Blow into the hole with canned air to remove the dust particles.
- 2). Apply the adhesive or grout provided with the fastener to the fastener in the amount recommended in the instructions. Drive the fastener into the predrilled hole, using a drill fitted with a flathead or Phillips drill bit as needed.
- 3). Follow the directions provided with your specific adhesive fastener to complete the installation process. Some adhesive fasteners may require turning with a wrench or hammering to fully install.
- 4). Hang lightweight surface items, like picture frames and artwork, on the fastener.
- 1). Create a hole for the expansion fastener in the size recommended in the fastener's directions. Remove dust from the hole with canned air.
- 2). Attach the anchor provided to the screws provided. In general, the anchor simply turns onto the screw, just as you would turn a nut or bolt.
- 3). Drill the screw with the anchor into the wall. As the screw turns, the anchor expands automatically, creating support from the backside of the concrete.
- 4). Use the expansion fasteners to hang heavier items, like mechanical boxes or shelves that must support the weight of multiple items.
