How do I Achieve Vibrational Harmony With my Desires?
In the simplest way, to achieve vibrational harmony with your desires, you must be the kind of person who gets what you want. The play on words is deliberate: you must 1) be the kind of person who gets what you want, i.e. your desire(s) (you must have enough discipline to see your goals through) and 2) you must become the kind of person who has what you want—for instance, if you want to become a millionaire, you're far better off to act like Warren Buffett than a homeless man or even a lottery winner (they often spend the money fast…).
And luckily for you, I can hear the thoughts you're having right now: that's great and fine on a theoretical level, but how do I actually do that? Well, there are too many ways to name in this article. So, rather than running you in circles with too many options, I'm going to suggest one that will help a large selection of people and from there, hopefully, you can extrapolate a few more ways to achieve vibrational harmony with things.
One of my desires in life is to feel good about everything I'm doing and to gain something productive on each of my goals everyday. If you're reading this article, I imagine that you have a similar desire (otherwise, why study the law of attraction?). Though, having rheumatoid arthritis makes me biased in this regard (feeling bad often causes me intense physical pain—lucky me!). Anyway, it used to pain me to do things I didn't like, particularly if they felt like a waste of time—commuting and chores are the first things that pop into my mind. So, I sought to find a way to make them more pleasant.
Five years back, I discovered the audio lecture through a Latin course (yes, the linguam romani, not to be confused with "Latin America"). The professor supplied all the verb declensions and noun conjugations in order as "drills" I listened to them over and over and over. So much so in fact that as I type this right now, I can hear her enthusiastically speaking the verb drill for first conjugation verbs, "-o, -s, -t, -mus, -tis, -unt". Anyway, the point is this: I did my "mindless" daily tasks while listening to these lectures. I'd cook, clean, do laundry, commute, walk around campus, and even play simple video games like Dynasty Warriors 4 or 5 while listing to lectures. This strategy greatly helped me to learn Latin, sure it's atrophied a little since, but I rarely use it (the greatest benefit was a deeper understanding of language, particularly grammar and the ability to intuitively understand the meaning and pronunciation of many words in Romantic languages).
Fast-forward to few years later and now I've been doing this practice daily with a wide selection of audio programs about many things: I've picked up a ton of information and made myself extremely knowledgeable in a vast array of areas. So, rather than thinking about chores as another opportunity to waste time or do something I don't like, I've turned them into an opportunity to listen to another audio program. It's an opportunity to learn a little more Spanish or to study internet marketing, NLP, law of attraction, the Silva method, or any of the other things I'm progressively mastering. It's a chance for me to catch up on my hobbies or reading (audiobooks also rock!). In short, it's time for me to get just a little closer to one of my goals everyday—no pressure to be the best, but just to get a little better. At least a 1% improvement a day is good enough for me because if I keep it up for just 70 days, I'll be twice as good as I am today.
The level I study, 5-14 hours a day, may be excessive for some people (I'm a fulltime graduate student in the humanities, so it's my main job); however, if you consider all the time you waste, you'll see you probably have an hour or more a day to study using your ears. For instance, you could listen to an audio program just on your way to work in the morning (30 minutes), while you eat your lunch (30 minutes), and on your way home (30 minutes) and over the course of a day listen to a whole college class (well, twice weekly classes—once a week classes are 2-3 times as long)!
Imagine how much more you could know about anything you wanted if you only did this three days a week for a year)? If you actually did it for a year (3 x 46—52 weeks in a year, but you may take a few like Christmas week off), you'd have listened to around 138 hours of audio programs at the end of the year. And since the average college class has about 20-30 hours of lectures, you could get through four or more classes in a year in just an hour and a half a day three days a week 46 weeks out of the year. Granted, you won't get the experience of reading the texts and working through them (but no one is stopping you from doing that either!) but you'll gain a great deal of information.
And there are programs available in any topic imaginable and Ivy League schools like Stanford, Yale, Berkley, and other schools put many of their classes online for free. And almost every topic imaginable is sold as an information product online—how to seduce people, how to train your dog, how to write code, how to grow marijuana, how to persuade people, how to market… and on and on.
Once you add a little additional study to your day, it'll be far easier to consider just how much time you spend "wasting time" in traffic, at the store, doing dishes, vacuuming, waiting for people, going to the restroom, etc., you'll see that you can probably add at least an hour of study or thinking time into your day.
And remember, it's not nerdy or lame to study—that‘s resistance keeping you where you're at right now, i.e. the very last thing you want if your goal is to change. By the way, did you know that the word "study" comes from the Latin "studeo, studere", a noun meaning "eager"? So, study what you're eager to learn and you'll find yourself closer and closer to being the person you're eager to be everyday… until one day, you are that person and wonder how it ever was that you weren't. And what more could you honestly ask for?
Unfortunately, this topic is incredibly complex, but I know my suggestion above will help you if you put it into practice. And the most awesome thing about following my suggestion is that you can study the law of attraction in more depth (just like I did, a little at a time everyday for years…) and learn how tons of other ways to come into vibrational harmony with your desires…
