    • 1). Click the "Start" button to launch the Start Menu.

    • 2). Right-click "Computer" and select "Properties" from the menu. The "System" window displays information about your computer such as the processor, processor speed and installed RAM.

    • 3). Click "Rate This Computer" next to the "Rating" listing.

    • 4). Allow Windows to detect your hardware settings. Your monitor may flicker or turn black during the process.

    • 5). Review the numerical scores provided by the Experience Index. Scores range from 1.0 at the lowest to 7.9 as the highest. The scores next to "Processor" and "Memory (RAM)" measure factors that influence the speed of your computer. Low scores indicate a slower computer while high scores indicate a faster computer that will run the operating system well.
