According to Fitness Magazine, "At its simplest, clean eating is about eating whole foods, or "real" foods -- those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible.
" Clean Eating is more a philosophy than a diet.
It's about making the quality of the food you eat the utmost priority.
It's about being an informed consumer and becoming educated about where your food comes from and what's actually in it.

if your great-grandmother wasn't familiar with it, you probably want to stay away from it.
" Did you ever consider how the food you eat gets to your table? What are the implications to your health, the product and the environment.
How is it grown? Is it genetically-modified and doused with harmful pesticides? Are animals raised in a clean environment and treated in a humane way? How much fuel is used to get your products to you.
Is it coming from your community or halfway around the world? Clean Eating is not only about the food we put in our bodies, it also takes into account how our food production impacts the planet.
Clean eating promotes a sustainable and humane food supply while connecting the dots to issues such as GMOs, the increase in a variety of health issues, and disease-resistant bacteria.
Eat Whole Foods Eat foods in their natural state.
Eat foods with no ingredient label.
Eat foods that humans have not altered in any way.

Read Ingredient Labels If it has an ingredient label, it should have only one ingredient listed (ie quinoa).
Avoid additives of any kind (ie sugar, salt, vitamins/minerals) When buying bread, the label should say 100% Whole Grain.
Choose organic foods when possible.
Buy grass fed/pastured meats over grain-fed.
If you can't read an ingredient, don't eat it.
Make Your Own Food It's the only way to know what's in it! Clean foods actually need very little preparation.
Anything you make will be much healthier than take-out.
Eat Frequently Eat 3 small meals and 1-2 snacks per day.
Include protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats at every meal.
You will maintain a health blood sugar level.
You will not feel hungry! If you spend the time and effort to learn how to eat clean foods, your body will thank you!
