Eat Less Sugar

In the last few years since I moved out of home, I have come to realise just how addictive sugars are.
If you are noticing how hard it is to just have a small slice of cake, or only one biscuit, then you know what I am talking about.
I LOVE to go out for coffee and cake dates with friends.
It's not something that I have always done, when I was a kid, my friends didn't come over to mum's house have cake and coffee.
Actually, when I was living at home, we rarely had sugary treats.
But, I have a sweet tooth! I love cake! When I left home, I realised that sugar is really quite addictive! After eating sugary cake, ever noticed how difficult it is to just had a little slice? Worst of all, sugar is difficult to give up.
Sugar is an addiction.
I talk about eating healthier and exercising more in my blog, but I know how difficult it can be to give up a vice.
How to ditch the sugars? Quite simply, just stop eating them! I will give you some tips to help you in the transition (tips that have worked for me), but it is not a switch that can just be turned off.
I must emphasise then that you must exercise will power and remember that you will be a stronger person for it.
Part of looking beautiful is to be beautiful inside.
The power that you can feel from saying no to sugars is something to hold on to! Get busy.
When your mind is fully engaged in an activity, you are not thinking about sugars.
Eat before you realise that you need a sugar boost.
When you are ditching sugars, make sure that you don't reach the point where you are exhausted, because you will know sugar can give you back your high.
So, eat low GI foods and ones which turn to alkali when you eat them.
Change your habits.
How about grabbing takeaway coffee with your girlfriend and walking with it instead? You will be away from the aroma of the sugars you are trying to avoid and you'll gain the added advantage of getting a bit more active too.
If you know when you are likely to dive into the sugars, prepare for it in advance and come up with a plan.
If you get low in the afternoon and need a pick me up, try adding some fruit to your lunch and have some handy for the afternoon too.
It might be hard to quit cold-turkey, so don't take one set back as a failed attempt to give up.
Even healthy, skinny girls will eat sugars sometimes.
