Eye goggles will further add to your protection.
After donning your protective apparel, you will be adequately shielded from skin diseases, asthma, allergies and eye irritations.

Identify all places where water is likely to come in and have these fixed or sealed.
Flooring, ceilings where there is leaking from above, leaks from pipes and water supply and entry points when there are floods are all possible sources.
Defective construction and poor workmanship all contribute to the entry of water.

Locate all areas in the basement infested with mold.
These are usually at the backsides of paneling, wallpaper, under carpets, wood and wood products.
Where there is no visible evidence for mold but a musty smell abounds, basement mold is likely to be present.
4).
Scrub hard surfaces where mold is present with a brush or scouring pad dipped in warm water and mild laundry detergent.
Allow to dry.
Then using a home-remedy fungicide, wipe the surface and wait for 20 minutes.
Repeat and wait for 20 minutes.
Lastly, wipe surface area with a detergent solution which has borate as one its elements.
Do not rinse.

Pour some fungicide into a sprayer, spray two coatings on the walls, pipes, ceiling and other mold-infested areas in the basement.
Fan-dry the room quickly for one to two hours; this is to remove excess moisture.
