Shoeshine Guide
- Spray the shoes with a little water and then wipe the dirt from the shoe with a soft cloth. For an ideal shine, all of the excess dirt must be removed.
- The quality of the shoeshine will depend heavily on the quality of the shoe polish. Use shoe polish instead of a polishing cream as the cream will not withstand water as well as standard polish. Make sure the polish matches the color of the shoe as closely as possible. Polish thoroughly with a stiff brush.
- Spray the shoes with a light layer of water again. Using a cotton cloth wrapped tightly around your fingers, rub the shoes to make sure the polish rubs in well. Do this for approximately two minutes on each shoe, rubbing thoroughly. Then using a slightly softer brush, brush the shoe from left to right repeatedly.
- Spray the shoes with water again. Then put a nylon stocking on your hand. The nylon buffs the surface of the shoe well. Rub each shoe thoroughly until you are satisfied with the shine that results.
