Filing Taxes Online

• 1). Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Michigan E-file page.
  
  
• 2). Click on the "How to E-File" tab and review the section entitled "Who Can E-File?" to verify that your taxes are eligible for online filing.
  
  
• 3). Scroll down to the section entitled "How Do I E-file" and click on the link for the list of free e-file options.
  
  
• 4). Review the requirements for eligibility for each company's free offer and the normal price for those who do not qualify.
  
  
• 5). Choose one of the companies and click on the link.
  
  
• 6). Launch the online filing application, if available, or download, install and run any required software.
  
  
• 7). Follow the onscreen instructions to fill out the necessary forms and submit the forms for online processing after verifying the supplied information.
