Ngorongoro Crater is located in the western half of the Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This crater is also known as the 8th wonder of the natural world. This is the biggest crater on earth. Crater was formed after an enormous volcanic explosion called a caldera, three million years. This protected area has become a UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. Protection zone is part of the Serengeti eco system and home to 25,000 large mammals. This is a unique area where wildlife is protected while allowing people to live. Ngorongoro crater is 600m deep, and the crater floor occupies 260 square kilometers. This area has the largest number of mammalian predators, the whole of Africa.
