    • 1). Open the PDF file you wish to convert in any word processor.

    • 2). Click on "File" in the program toolbar and then select "Save As."

    • 3). Click on the drop-down menu labeled "File Type." Select ".txt" from the list and then click "OK." This saves a copy of the PDF in plain text format.

    • 4). Click on the start menu and then click "Computer."

    • 5). Locate the ".txt" file you just saved using the file browser.

    • 6). Right-click the file to bring up a contextual menu. Select "Rename" from the list of available options.

    • 7). Enter a new file name for the .txt file. Remember that older TI graphing calculators have a maximum length of 8 characters for all file names. Once you have decided on a file name, add ".8XK" to the end of the file name. This changes the file type from ".txt" to ".8xk."

    • 8). Connect your TI graphing calculator to your computer using a USB cord. After a few seconds, your calculator appears as a "Removable Storage Device."

    • 9). Drag-and-drop the ".8XK" file into the desired directory on the TI calculator. When the transfer is complete, disconnect the calculator from the USB drive. You should now be able to view the contents of the ".8XK" file on your graphing calculator.
