There are times when you need to make a dessert for just a couple of people. This recipe for Tiramisu is perfect. It makes just enough for four people or just for two with dessert for a second night.

Ingredients

• 3 egg yolks
• 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons white sugar
• 1/3 cup milk
• 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons cups heavy cream
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
• 2 tablespoons cool strong brewed coffee
• 1 tablespoon Marsala wine
• 1 (3 ounce) package ladyfinger cookies
• 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
• Optional: Chocolate Coffee Beans for Decoration

• Prep Time: 20 minutes
• Cook Time: 1 minutes

• Total Time: 21 minutes
• Yield: Serves Four

Preparation

Night before or early in day of serving: In a cold sauce pan, whisk egg yolks, sugar and milk. Mix until sugar is almost dissolved. While stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Continue to boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Allow to cool. Cover tightly and refrigerate for one hour.

Whip cream and vanilla until soft peaks form. Set aside. Remove milk mixture from the refrigerator.

Whisk mascarpone cheese into milk mixture until lumps are gone. In a small bowl, combine Marsala and coffee. Split ladyfingers in half lengthwise. Place on a large platter. Drizzle with Marsala mixture. Arrange half of the ladyfingers in bottom of 6-inch serving bowl. Spread with half of mascarpone mixture over lady fingers. Spread with half of the whipped cream. Repeat layers. Sprinkle top with cocoa powder. Decorate with optional coffee beans. Cover dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours prior to serving.
