Guide Review - Review of JAlbum 8.0
JAlbum offers users a quick way to create photo albums and slideshows that fit their personality. The program comes with several "skins", that allow the user to easily customize the look of their albums, and many more skins are available online. The program can be run on any platform that supports Java 1.4, but does not require Java itself be installed.
JAlbum also allows users to set an automatic watermark on their images to help prevent image theft from the internet and EXIF data can also be automatically imported. JAlbum automates the resizing of images as well. The new 8.0 version also includes an integrated image editor as well as RSS and Widget support.
If it seems like JAlbum is a photographer's wish list for a program, that's because it is. JAlbum came about in 2002 when David Ekholm of Sweden returned from a ski trip and could not find any photo album programs or hosting sites that met his needs. JAlbum grew out of his desire for a photo album creator that actually did what photographer's want.
