How to Convert a WAV to an MP3 on Media Player

    • 1). Insert a blank CD into your computer.

    • 2). Open Media Player.

    • 3). Click "Burn" at the top of Media Player.

    • 4). Choose the "Library" link that is located on the left side of Media Player. Several different buttons will then appear in the center of Media Player.

    • 5). Choose the "Songs" button. The songs in Media Player will appear.

    • 6). Highlight every WAV file you wish to convert to MP3 in Media Player.

    • 7). Drag the WAVs over to the "Burn List" that is positioned on the right side of Media Player.

    • 8). Click "Start Burn" underneath the Burn List in order to place the WAVs on the blank CD. Leave the blank CD in the computer when this process finishes.

    • 9). Click "Tools" at the top of Media Player. Choose "Options." Doing so opens the Options window.

      Select the "Rip Music" button at the top of the window. Then, click on the "Format" drop box that will appear in the center of the window. Numerous choices will be listed. Select "MP3." Click "Apply" to save this setting and choose "OK" to close that window.

      Click "Rip" at the top of Media Player. Every WAV you placed onto the blank CD will be listed. The boxes next to the WAVs will also be checked off. Leave the check marks inside the boxes.

      Click "Start Rip" and the WAVs will be saved onto the computer as MP3 files.
