How to Remove Melted Crayon From Upholstery

    • 1). Rub the melted crayon with an ice cube to help solidify the wax and make it easier to remove. Once the wax has hardened, scrape at it with a plastic scraper or a stiff bristled brush. Remove as much of the solid crayon wax as possible.

    • 2). Spray the area with WD-40 or a dry cleaning solvent. Dab with a paper towel to blot the stain and the moisture from the upholstery. Repeat until the color does not come off on the paper towel anymore.

    • 3). Combine 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of mild dish detergent. Apply this to any remaining stain. Blot with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove the moisture.

    • 4). Blot the area with a mixture of one part white vinegar to one part water to remove any traces of cleaning solutions left in the fabric.

    • 5). Wipe the area down with a damp sponge, using clean water. Blot up any remaining moisture, and allow to air-dry before sitting on the area.
