The Best Way to Get Tons of Leaves Out of a Fiberglass Pool

104 210

    Methods

    • The best tool for removing lots of leaves from the bottom of your pool is a leaf rake. The Pool Janitor suggests moving the leaf rake along the bottom of the pool, scooping up leaves into your bag. This method takes a long time, but is the best technique for removing lots of leaves.

    Considerations

    • Vacuums clog easily with serious leaf problems and aren't recommended. If you want to vacuum the leaves out of your pool, however, make sure to use a vacuum designed for use in pools. A vacuum with abrasive edges or tools can damage the gelcoat finish on your fiberglass pool.

    Tips

    • Trimming back bushes near you pool greatly reduces the amount of leaves that can fall in there, for less cleanup on your part. Regular skimming and an effective filtration system also cut down on leaf problems in pools.
