Protect the investment you made in that new e-reader by having your teen make a quick and easy felt e-reader envelope. Lay the e-reader on a piece of felt to determine the size of envelope to create. Cut the felt 2 inches wider than the reader and 2-1/2 times the size of the reader. This creates the fabric cover to wrap around your reader. Fold the felt to cover the reader, leaving a fold-over flap at the top. Whip-stitch up the sides of the envelope and add Velcro to keep secure the flap. Your teen can dress the envelope with felt cut-outs or other objects as desired.

This project is so quick and easy, anyone can do it. All you need is a few discarded compact discs, glue and felt material. Recycle a compact disc by tracing the shape on a piece of felt. Cut the felt slightly smaller than the compact disc and glue it to the compact disc. Do this for the top and bottom of the drink coasters. Your teen can add cut felt or other flat, waterproof shapes to the coasters to make them more decorative.

A bandana is a quick material to work with if you want to create a easy drawstring beach bag. Your teen can create her beach bag from the many colorful bandanas available for purchase. To create a bag, sew two large bandanas together on three sides. Then turn the open side down to sew a pocket for the drawstring. Adding fringe to the bottom of the bag can dress it up and make it even more creative.

Your teen can make a fancy, decorative teacup to keep for herself or give as a gift with this simple craft project. Use glue to attach all types of decorative beads to a simple teacup. Add the beads to the top rim, sides or even along the handle to create an imaginative design and work of art. Finish the teacup by spraying with a clear acrylic coating to help keep the beads attached when handling.
