The only thing you cannot do is hear.
I heard this statement several times, and I believe it.
You cannot hear, but you can still work.
You are still human, after all.
And it is a disgrace to any company if they leave out applicants merely because they are deaf.
It should not be the case.
Now, to give you a little more hope that it does not work that way always.
Here is a sample list of the best and highest ranking jobs for the deaf.
1.
Filling out paid surveys.
If you have not been too much oriented on the net, paid survey is an opportunity for everyone to earn money or incentives simply through filling out statistical surveys.
In short, you become respondents to particular questions.
But beware; there are paid survey scams on the net.
The legitimate ones do not let you pay anything for registration.
You simply fill out the form for registration, and start your survey work.
I can say this work is the most convenient for individuals with hearing problems.
You can work at the comfort of your home and do not require verbal communication with your employer.
2.
Interpreter.
You can also be an interpreter for other deaf individuals.
Most government executives and private organizations would require the services of deaf interpreters for various activities and events.
3.
Clerical or administrative positions.
You can also work as a secretary or clerk, an IT administrator or programmer, where all you need to do is use your eyes and hands in front of the computer or typewriter to store all data required from you by your employer.
4.
Community Helper.
Anybody can work as a community helper, serving local government agencies on several community projects.
Your disability should not put you in a position to be judged whether you can do this kind of job or not.
Prove people wrong that losing your sense of hearing does not mean that you completely lost your wisdom as well.
