How to Reset the Chip in an HP 10 Ink Cartridge
- 1). Attain an ink cartridge chip resetting device. These portable resetting devices reset the ink cartridge memory chip. This allows the printer to recognize the ink cartridge as full.
- 2). Remove the ink cartridge from the printer by snapping the cartridge from the cartridge holder.
- 3). Ensure that the resetting device's pins and the ink cartridge's chip are lined up. Connect the resetting device's pins and the cartridge's chip. Make sure that the connection is firm.
- 4). Wait until the device's light turns green. Usually this takes 10 seconds. The cartridge is now reset and you can disconnect the device and cartridge.
- 5). Insert the ink cartridge back into the printer. Allow the printer to print a test page. If it does, the process was successful.
