The Exotic Cat As A Family Pet

What does a computer geek do when he loves the machine but does not want to go the hassle of maintaining a desktop? Simple, he buys a laptop.
It's the same with people who chose the Exotic breed of cat over the Persian cat.
Why? The Exotic cat is a shorthaired cat as opposed to the longhaired Persian.
It's easier to keep an Exotic clean, as the Persian involves a lot of grooming and brushing which might not be the best ideas to people who live in apartments in cities, and have jobs which eat up most of their time.
The Exotic in all other ways is exactly the same as its Persian predecessor.
In fact, just like the laptop vs.
desktop battle, this cat breed has seen more popularity as a house cat.
If we want to go by specifications (no pun intended), the Exotic is quite stout in stature with a big round head and small pointy ears at the ends.
The face is a little more muzzled than a purebred Persian, hence making it more popular as a house cat rather than a show cat, where points are penalized for a more pronounced muzzle.
It is as laid back and relaxed as a Persian thus making it potentially risk free around other domestic animals and babies in the family.
Although records on YouTube and World's Funniest Animals have shown that they do fight for attention against another cat.
So make sure that if you have an exotic cat, have no other cat around, unless of course you want to make a name for yourself as a feline fight promoter.
For fans for the movie Cats and Dogs, Calico, the sidekick of Mr.
Tinkle's is an Exotic breed.
On an even more popular note, Antonio Banderas' character from the Shrek movies, Puss in Boots, is also a golden brown Exotic Cat.
