The iPregnancy App is like having your pregnancy journal and calendar in your hand. It's nearly everything that you need to have on hand for a well organized pregnancy with only a few changes that I'd make.

Guide Review - iPregnancy App

The iPregnancy App is an application designed to take you through your entire pregnancy. The "Today" space allows you to view your pregnancy in terms of the days, weeks or months past and to go. This also lets you know which trimester that you are in and how far away your due date or next trimester is away.

Under pictures, you have a section for every week of pregnancy from week one to week 40. Here you can choose to see a drawing of your baby, a 2D ultrasound or 3D ultrasound. You can also add photos of yourself in this section (but taken in the journaling section). Considering how many pregnancies go through the 42nd week of pregnancy, I really wish that they would expand this section, even just for the photos you take, if not for the drawings and ultrasound photos.

The Information tab contains brief information specs on baby, mom and dad. I personally found the references to Mommy, Daddy and tummy annoying. Tummy annoyed me more than anything as I would read these passages about a fetus growing in my tummy, it simply seemed incongruent. Though these brief bits were informational and I'm glad that they included dads.

The OB visits section was a bit more detailed than the other sections. Here you can add information about your prenatal care, including easy flagging of important topics or tests. There is also a section for you to list questions that you have for your next visit so that you don't forget to ask them. You can also quickly scan for a specific appointment to look something up. It allows you to easily record the information from your visits from weight to fetal heart tones. There is also a section for your pregnancy journal and photos. One thing that was a bit odd was your mood indicator. Some of the choices were a bit off: angelic? I also would like to see this referred to as prenatal care or simply visits. This would make the app more user friendly for those receiving care from non-OBs, such as midwives and family practitioners.

The baby names section was also well done. You have a choice of 1,000 baby names for boys and 1,000 baby names for girls. Included is the information on the rank of the name in popularity. You can easily add a name to your list of favorites. If you have a name you'd like to add that is not included, simply add it. There is also a shake feature to suggest names. I'll admit to getting a big grin out of the fact that my first shake led me to the name of one of my children!
