    • 1). Replace the flooring to appear as the specific sports surface. For football, soccer or baseball, use indoor/outdoor carpeting. For basketball, use hardwood flooring and for hockey consider shiny white tile to look like ice.

    • 2). Paint the walls in a favorite team's colors, if they are suitable. Consider using striped borders or trim around the windows for secondary or dark colors. Purchase stick-on sports murals. There are many designs available, from scoreboards, to players, to grandstands. Or hang posters of favorite teams or players in action.

    • 3). Replace dressers and chests with lockers. All sports teams use lockers to keep their clothing and equipment. Paint the lockers to match the room's decor.

    • 4). Use bedding in team colors or with a team logo. Bedding is available from official sites for most professional teams. Plain bedding in team colors is also acceptable.

    • 5). Finish the room with sports-related items as decorations. Place helmets or hats on headboards, hang jerseys on the walls or place sports-related equipment, such as bats, balls or sticks, around the room or on a display shelf, as applicable.
