How to Build a Homemade T-Shirt Launcher
- 1). Place the two PVC pipes on a flat surface. Sand each end of the two pipes with sandpaper. Clean the ends of the pipes with a damp cloth to remove any residue and dirt.
- 2). Measure approximately three inches from the end of one of the PVC pipes. Drill a hole at the spot with a drill bit that is the same diameter as the Schrader valve. Sand down the hole and clean with a damp cloth.
- 3). Apply PVC purple primer to the inside and outside of the hole in the PVC pipe. Allow the purple primer to cure. Read the label to determine drying time. Repeat the procedure to apply primer to the Schrader valve base.
- 4). Cover the purple primer with a coat of PVC cement on both the valve and the pipe. Slide the Schrader valve into the pipe from one end of the pipe. Pull the valve through the hole from the inside of the pipe and hold it firmly in position for approximately one minute,
- 5). Apply purple primer to the end of the pipe closest to the valve. Repeat the procedure on the inside of the pipe end cap. Apply PVC cement to the pipe end and inside of the cap. Hold the pipe end firmly for one minute to seal the two components.
- 6). Prime and cement the remaining end of the PVC pipe and one side of the PVC ball valve. Attach the ball valve to the end of the pipe and hold it into place for one minute to secure the components.
- 7). Apply primer and cement to the other side of the ball valve along with one end of the second PVC pipe. Combine the two items and hold in place until firmly secure. This is the barrel for the T-shirt launcher.
- 8). Attach an air pump to the Schrader valve. Close the ball valve and place a T-shirt in the barrel. Pump air into the first pipe or air chamber with the air pump.
- 9). Aim the launcher in a direction away from people, fragile objects or pets. Open the ball valve to launch the T-shirt.
