How to Have Fountain Soda at Your House
- 1). Remove the top from your soda siphon and add 1 qt. of filtered or bottled water. If your tap water tastes very good, you can use regular tap water instead. Replace the top and tighten it.
- 2). Unscrew the knob at the top of your soda siphon. Remove the knob after unscrewing it. This will reveal a hole in the top of the siphon bottle.
- 3). Drop a soda charger into the hole with the small end going in first. Replace the knob by setting it in place and screwing it down tightly. You will hear a hissing noise while you are tightening the knob. This is the CO2 from the soda charger carbonating your water.
- 4). Measure your soda syrup into a tall glass according to your package directions. Each syrup brand may have slightly different instructions and measurements, but they will all require a small number of spoonfuls of syrup in a glass of carbonated water.
- 5). Hold the siphon bottle with the spout pointed into the glass. Pull the lever to squirt carbonated water into the glass. The squirting action of the water will mix the syrup and water together, creating a glass of fountain soda.
