How to Know If Castor Oil Is Pure
- 1). Read the label.
The front label will be emblazoned with the words "100% Pure." Check the ingredients list to confirm that nothing other than castor oil is in the container. - 2). Opt for cold-pressed castor oil whenever possible.
Because it is extracted from the castor bean seed at low temperatures, this method damages the oil the least, as compared to other extraction methods. Another phrase you may see instead of cold-pressed is expeller pressed, which usually means the same thing. - 3). Engage your senses.
Castor oil that is 100 percent pure will be virtually tasteless, and will also have no odor.
