How to Troubleshoot the Maytag MSD2652KEB
- 1). Allow the refrigerator up to 40 minutes to run again if you notice that the compressor isn't working but the interior lights are working. This is a sign that the refrigerator is in automatic defrost mode.
- 2). Unplug the refrigerator if the compressor and lights are nonoperational. Plug it into an operational electrical outlet. Check the fuse box or circuit breaker, and replace fuses that have blown or reset breakers that have been tripped. Look at the temperature control to verify that the dial is not set to "Off" or the touch pad hasn't been set to "-." Change the controls to a setting besides those.
- 3). Clean the refrigerator's condenser coils if the temperature of the food is too low. Suck away any dust or debris from the coils with the hose attachment of a vacuum cleaner, and then place the brush attachment onto the hose to clean the condenser fan outlet grille. Move the control dial or adjust the touch controls inside the refrigerator to a higher temperature, and move food away from the air inlet on the upper left side of the refrigerator's interior.
- 4). Close the door properly if the temperature of food inside the refrigerator is too high. Adjust the temperature controls to a lower temperature, and move foods away from the refrigerator's rear air grilles, which are underneath the crisper drawers.
- 5). Keep the refrigerator door open as little as possible to combat issues with water droplets appearing on the unit's interior or to keep the unit from running more than seems necessary. Additionally, clean the condenser coils and adjust the controls to a higher temperature. Inspect the refrigerator's door gaskets to ensure a tight seal.
- 6). Close the freezer door fully if you experience problems in dispensing ice or water from the freezer door. Give the water tank several minutes to fill if it's the first time you use it or if you've recently depleted the tank of its supply. Change the water filter if water still doesn't dispense.
- 7). Push the ice maker's arm down to turn it on if it doesn't make ice at all. Look at the water supply line leading into the rear of the refrigerator. Straighten any kinks, or replace the copper tubing completely if removal of kinks is not possible. Reset the freezer's temperature between 0 and 2 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure the freezer is cold enough to produce ice.
- 8). Discard water with carbon dust particles if they appear in your water supply and you prefer not to drink them. They appear during the first few uses of a new water filter, and while they are safe to consume, you can obtain clear water within a few cycles of filling and emptying your glass.
