How to Get Deep Black Marks Off My Ceramic Stove
- 1). Wipe down the stove. This will enable you to see more clearly what and where the problem is.
- 2). Mix up a cleaning paste of baking soda, water and coarse salt. The salt and baking soda are mild abrasives but will not damage the ceramic stove top. Use 1/4 cup baking soda, one tbsp. of salt and add tablespoons of water to the mix until you have created a paste that can be spread but that will not run.
- 3). Attack the black marks with the paste. Spread it on the black marks and allow it to sit for about five minutes. Use the plastic scrubber or the cleaning rags to rub the paste in circles until the residue comes off the stove.
- 4). Tackle stubborn stains with foaming bathroom cleaner or bleach. Sometimes, even when you remove the actual residue causing the mark, you will still have a faint stain. Lay a cloth saturated with foaming bathroom cleaner or bleach over the stain for 15 minutes, then rub the area with firm pressure and a circular motion. Test these cleaners on your stove to make sure that they do not lighten its finish.
- 5). Wipe down your stove with any spray-on ceramic stove top cleaner. This will remove any residue from cleaning and leave your stove top looking shiny and new once more.
