How Do I Select New Drivers on My NT Professional CD?
- 1). Insert the NT CD into the computer's drive. Click the NT "Start" button and select "Settings." Choose "Control Panel" from the list of options.
- 2). Double-click the hardware for which you want to change the driver. This opens the device manager for your hardware. For instance, if you want to change a modem device driver, double-click "Modem" in the Control Panel.
- 3). Click the "Drivers" tab in the opened window. In the "Install Driver" section, click the button labeled "Have Disk." This opens a new window.
- 4). Click "Browse" to open a new window. Navigate to the "Drivers" directory on the Windows NT CD located in the "WinNT" root directory. Click "OK."
- 5). Reboot the machine. Depending on the type of driver you installed, Windows NT requires a reboot for the changes to take effect.
