How to Disable Internet Explorer Options
- 1). Click "Start" and click "Run" in Windows XP. Type "regedit" into the "Run" dialog and click "OK." In Windows Vista or Windows 7, click "Start," type "regedit" into the "Search" box at the bottom of the menu. Press "Enter." Click "Yes" if prompted by the "User Account Control." The "Registry Editor" window opens.
- 2). Open the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder and navigate to "Software > Policies > Microsoft > Internet Explorer."
- 3). Click on the "Restrictions" key under "Internet Explorer." If one does not exist, right-click "Internet Explorer" and select "New Key." Type "Restrictions" in the "New Key" box and press "Enter."
- 4). Right-click "Restrictions." Point to "New" and select "DWORD." Type "NoBrowserOptions" into the "New Value" box and press "Enter."
- 5). Double-click "NoBrowserOptions." Enter "1" into the "Value Data" box and click "OK." Close the "Registry Editor" window. Restart the computer for the settings to take effect.
