      Toronto, Ontario prides itself on being a truly multicultural city in the heart of a country of immigrants.     • The Sultan's Tent offers guests a complete immersive experience. As you enter the restaurant, you pass a tapestry that was presented to the owner by the former King of Morocco. Elsewhere, the dining room is richly decorated with exotic fabrics, pillows and antiques. The Sultan's Tent offers a four-course prix fixe menu with many options. You may wish to start with the warm duck breast salad followed by the Moroccan crab cakes. As a main, try the beef short rib which is glazed with Moroccan spices and finished with a wine demi glace. For dessert, try the Moroccan cookies and pastries. Live musicians and belly-dancers perform regularly, so call ahead for more details.

    Ethiopian House Restaurant

    • Ethiopian House Restaurant is located downtown, just steps from bustling Yonge Street. The casual dining room sports large contemporary paintings, bright colors and lots of African flavor. Ethiopian House embraces the traditional method of serving food; injera bread is served with meats, sauces and pickles. Diners use a piece of injera to scoop up ingredients that are presented on a platter in the center of the table. The menu includes many types of meat dishes, such as "Quanta Fer-Fer", which is strips of beef prepared with African spices, dried and served in small pieces. There are also plenty of vegetarian options.

    African Palace

    • African Palace is located in trendy Bloor Street West. The casual dining room features lively artwork, wicker furniture and a warm, comfortable ambience. The menu offers a number of different dishes, including "Gored Gored," tenderloin beef served raw (or rare, if you prefer) in awaze spices with a butter dip. "ChaCha Tibs" presents lamb sauteed with onion and fried in a cast-iron skillet. After your meal, partake in a traditional coffee ceremony, in which your server presents coffee served from a clay pot after performing a short ritual accompanied by burning incense.
