    • 1). Mix blackberries, 1 cup of sugar and 1/4-cup butter in the saucepan. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the mixture boils. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

    • 2). Place the cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar in the large mixing bowl. Blend with the mixer until light and fluffy. Pour 2/3 cup milk into the bowl and continue mixing. Add 2-1/4 cups biscuit mix and 3/4 cup oatmeal to the mixture and beat with the mixer until the mixture is smooth.

    • 3). Grease the bottom of the baking pan and spread slightly more than half of the cream cheese mixture into the bottom of the pan. Spread the blackberry mixture over the cream cheese layer. Add the remaining cream cheese dumplings by the spoonful to the top of the blackberry layer. Space the dumplings evenly over the top of the cobbler, making them all uniform size.

    • 4). Bake the cobbler for 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from the oven when the cobbler is lightly brown and the blackberries are bubbling.

    • 5). Cool slightly and serve warm or cold. Top with a heaping spoonful of ice cream or whipped cream.
