Canada seems to showcase a proactive approach while managing its immigration policy. Canadian Immigration Assessment 2013 goes on to explain measures that make the policy more reflective of its economic objectives. As Minister Kenny believes, ‘Canada has suffered majorily for lack of manpower to meet industry specifications'.  The emphasis is therefore to ‘not' to have the numbers but to have the skills that can produce a expected outcome. The most recent declaration by the NOC ‘National Occupational Classification' mention 24 occupations that need an immediate supply of skilled manpower. The classification successfully dissects through the economy and enlists these 24 occupations to meet the industry demands. The occupations do also mention a more stringent observance of the immigrant abilities on age, education, adaptability and official language.

Employment has remained the most prominent of the reasons on immigration to Canada. A robust economy later started to attract the investors and budding enterpreneurs. Canada now stands as a land of opportunities for every classificaiton of investors. A reselient economy, progressive community, cosmopolitan workforce and a qualitative life are all the reasons that fuel  immigration to Canada. but not everyone gets the opportunity as CIC seems to believe more on theory of evolution i.e. survival of the fittest. Its points system does a thorough evaluation of the abilities of the immigrant on various parameters. Each application is evaluated on age, education, professional expertise, official langauge, skills and adaptability.

The recent alterations to the policy further narrow down the selection criteria. All the 24 occupations now follow a more strict regime on age, official language, education and adaptability. CIC looks for immigrants who are of a younger age group (20-35 years) and seem to offer more on productivity and agility. The threshold on language has been further reduced as the immigrants need to show a good score on all four accounts on official langugage (English / French) i.e. reading, writing, listening and speaking. Adaptability too takes a prominent role as CIC expects the immigrants to have a prior experience on stay at Australia, funds to nourish the early part of settlement and employability of the spouse. Altogether the Canadian Immigration Assessment 2013 reveals a more prominent role of CIC. Citizenship and Immigration Canada seems to keep the immigration more responsive to the economic needs of the country. While on one hand, jobs are being created to keep the economy going, on the second, the skilled manpower is being selectively placed to show the output. Both, Canada and the immigrants stand benefitted in the process. The Canadian Immigration Assessment 2013 do also reveal that the immigrant's need to have eduation that is at par to Canadian standards. A comprehensive ECA ‘Employment Credibility Assessment' prior to issuing visa makes sure of that. The intention is to bring consistency to work place understanding among all work groups, irrespective of them being of Canada or Immigrant. On totallity, the state of affairs at Canadian immigration do more of good to the economy by way of a customized immigration.
