How to Make an Application Screen Interactive With PowerPoint

    • 1). Press the "Function/PrintScreen" keys to capture your application screen.

    • 2). Open a new PowerPoint file and right-mouse click on the slide. Select the "Layout" option and choose the "Blank" option to create a blank slide so you can paste in your application screen capture.

    • 3). Press the "CTRL/V" keys to paste the application screen capture from you clipboard into the PowerPoint application.

    • 4). From the "Insert" menu, click the "Shapes" option and select the "Rectangle" shape. Draw a rectangle around the area that you want your users to click. Right-mouse click on the shape and select the "Format Shape" option. Select the "Transparency" option to 100 percent. Click the "Line Color" option and select the "No line" option. Click the "Close" button.

    • 5). Click the "Action" button and then click the "Hyperlink to" option and select the "Next Slide" option.

    • 6). From the "Insert" menu, click the "Shapes" option and select the "Rectangle" shape. Draw a rectangle around the incorrect area to click. Right-mouse click on the shape and select the "Format Shape" option to remove the color added so you can see the application screen. Select the "Transparency" option to 100 percent. Click the "Line Color" option and select the "No line" option. Click the "Close" button.

    • 7). Click the "Action" button and then click the "Play Sound" option and select a sound to play when your user does not click the correct spot, such as the "Explosion" sound.

    • 8). Click the "From Beginning" button in the "Slide Show" menu to test your slides.

    • 9). Press the "CTRL/S" keys to save the file.
